A blend of 61% cabernet sauvignon & 39% shiraz
Review by Campbell Mattinson - The Wine Front
The 2016 Medhurst Estate Rose has been awarded the trophy for best Rose at the 2016 Yarra Valley Wine Show. This is a deliberate and considered Rose, which starts from dedicated parts of the vineyard to ensure ripe flavours, fresh fruit and a trademark chalky fine finish. Perfect for the warmer months the 2016 Medhurst Rose is available from our cellar door in the Yarra Valley, or follow this link to purchase from the website.
Another success at the show was a Gold medal for our newly released 2013 Medhurst Estate Cabernet sauvignon. Made from fruit sourced from the Eastern end of the cabernet block were the flavours were brighter and more intense, the wine was made in two batches. One batch underwent extended maceration for 52 days allowing more silky tannins and thus better cellaring potential. Although drinking beautifully now this wine will continue to improve with up to 10 years careful cellaring. The 2013 Medhurst Estate Cabernet is available from our cellar door in the Yarra Valley, or follow this link to purchase from the website.
