New Release:

We were pleased to be reviewed recently by James Halliday in his 2008 Australian Wine Companion where he gave Medhurst 4 and a half stars, and described it as a “Excellent winery able to produce wines of high to very high quality.

2005 Medhurst Pinot Noir
This wine was awarded a silver medal at the 2006 Yarra Valley Wine Show. In his 2008 Australian Wine Companion James Halliday described this wine as “having an extremely complex bouquet and palate, with spice, rhubarb and plum aroma’s; a potent intense and long palate with stem-forest-spice notes underlying clear pinot fruit;impressive” rating 94/100.

From the Vineyard:
As forecast, summer has been dry and the soil and dams have little water, necessitating careful management of this precious resource.

The fruit is looking great with the hot and dry conditions favouring our red varieties. The small berries of the cabernet promise concentrated flavour. And the cooler new year temperatures mean the pinot noir and chardonnay berries will retain their more volatile and aromatic flavours.

With the prospect of an early vintage, it will not be long before we will harvest the results of another year in the Medhurst vineyard.
