The Cabernet Sauvignon block is situated in a small valley at the rear of the property on a north facing aspect with a moderate slope. The soil is orange clay with a high gravel content which allows for good drainage. The surrounding hills protect the block from the worst of the summer winds. These factors combine to give an ideal site for the production of cool climate cabernet sauvignon. The length of the ripening period allows for the development of good fruit flavours and tannin structure.
